PROJECT "SAVE A SMILE"
|
January
21, 2006
Two Kiwanis Club of St. Pete. members, Dr. Ron O’Neal
and Dr. Michael Hess hosted the First Annual Project
Save-a-Smile at their offices at 7401 Dr. MLK Jr. St. N.
The event was planned to provide dental treatment for
foster children. Dr. O’Neal, along with the help
of Dr. Sean Gassett provided dental exams, cleanings and
x-rays for 50 kids at no cost. Dr. Hess examined
the children and determined the need for braces. He will
select two children each year for free braces. Community
support was provided by Chick-fil-A on 4th Street,
Publix on 9th Street, Ritz Camera in International
Plaza, Funny Business, Venturi Productions, Henry Schein
Co., Administrative Partners, and St. Pete High School’s
Key Club. While waiting for their treatment, the kids
got to play with clowns, jump on the moonwalk and
improve their skills on the football obstacle course.
The kids also received merchandise and autographs from
Tampa Bay Buccaneer #78 Matt Stinchcomb. “Project Save a
Smile” is a non-profit dental treatment organization
founded by Dr. O’Neal.
